I'm Anil Chauhan, a backend developer. These days I write mostly Go, and I spend most of my time in the terminal.

I started with Python in 2014, back in 9th grade. Most of my early projects were Telegram bots — the biggest was Stella, a group-management bot I built with Python and MongoDB during my first semester of college. Since 2019 I've worked on backends, including a couple that grew past a few million users. Along the way I picked up JavaScript, Go, and a lot of Bash, plus the usual ops tooling: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud on GCP and AWS.

Linux has been the constant. It's been my daily driver for years and it's where I'm most comfortable.

Outside work I run a homelab on a single small Proxmox box — an Intel i5-8500T with one LXC container per service: AdGuard, Immich, Vaultwarden, Calibre, and a handful of others. Nothing is exposed to the internet directly; it tunnels out through a cheap VPS with frp, and DNS runs through Cloudflare. I wrote up the full setup in What's running in my homelab.
